I have almost accepted that the Duffer brothers really have something against Charlie. Otherwise, they gave everyone a character arc, including Erica and Murray (not saying they shouldn't have), except Jonathan. Do the writers have something against Charlie or the character Jonathan? It's frustrating to see that every other character has been developed and given solid arcs except him.

Bro they literally fucked his character up in this season. He's one of my fav characters in this show and I'm so mad that they're literally taking all of his role. Like, wtf happened ? He was a badass in season 1 and 2. He fought with monsters, he was smart. He loved photography and had dreams for the future back then (in the earlier episodes). And then bum, in season 4 he's just a fucking stoner that does absolutely NOTHING. Also, I'm not even talking about how we didn't get any Jancy scenes. They're literally just separating him and her to make Steve and Nancy happen again. This is the stupidest fucking shit I've ever seen in this show. Definitely ignored his character and his development. Bad writing. I just started to watch Stranger Things again and I was shocked when I saw how Jonathan's character was before. There's no way him and season 4 Jonathan is the same person wtf💀

I like Jonathan and Nancy as a couple, but I really wish he had more scenes with his family in this season like he did in season 1. I think his character shines the most when he's being a good brother and a good son.

It upsets me so much that S1 and S2 Jonathan was so vital to the story. Now, he's a side character and S4 made his character the complete opposite of who he has always been. They made him a stoner, which would be fine if they showed some decline in his sense of duty and responsibility to his family. But this is the same guy who didnt even touch his drink at a Halloween party. This is the same guy who has always been realistic about how life works but has always been able to take care of his mom and his brother. I just don't get why theyre wasting his character when they put so much effort into developing him in the first two seasons.

And...we are still here...1D will still and always be the best boyband ever

they cut his screentime because he was an unpopular character in season 3. so instead of trying to make his character better or more interesting they just basically deleted him :(
